New approach to organizational change
Onemind™ approach to succeeding at change initiatives
How to stop fumbling change
As managers we need to radically re-think our understanding of the nature of change and how we should approach it. By and large, organizations achieve abysmal results when introducing change initiatives. Eighty per cent of all corporate initiatives fail, with the record of businesses being equally catastrophic as the public sector.
In our research, we have observed that people with experience of working in organizations can generally repeat the rhetoric about how best to introduce change. However, this knowing is rarely used. How is it then, when we have the way almost in our grasp, we invariably fumble it? There are many lists on why organizations fumble change, but most of these only reflect the ‘pet-hates’ of their compilers. Eight years ago, Onemind™ Management financed and initiated a research program into failed initiatives with the objective of identifying the true causes of failure and to develop a set of generic principles to address these. We have continued this research and have now constructed our Onemind™ approach, with generic rules of conduct and a raft of management techniques, that can reverse the persistent 80/20 change initiative failure record.
Now, as a result of our research and development, we have developed the knowledge base, the analysis, and the rigorous practical technologies to arm senior executives, and programme, project and functional managers with a structured generic approach to achieving change, giving their initiatives a greater than eighty percent probability of successful implementation. At last it is possible to move beyond empty rhetoric and into effective action.
Making a Difference
The Onemind™ approach is the first comprehensive description to how to really succeed at organizational change. This is because it makes the connection between our day-to-day behaviours and the rhetoric of intention, purpose, values, relationships, process, control, scope and performance. It connects the organizational with the personal. The approach includes eight generic rules of conduct or maxims.
The Onemind™ approach will help you as a business professional to:
- Change your perspective on how organizational change is brought about and how you can contribute to it more effectively.
- Use techniques and processes that support the application of the Onemind™ maxims.
- Be able to work with others to succeed at change initiatives while reducing your workload.
